The Prom of the graduating class 2015 of the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Wetter (Ruhr)
This is something very special:
With the completion of school education, which goes hand in hand with majority age,
a new phase in life begins.
Reason enough to celebrate what they have achieved and to record the happening for eternity.
This year's prom the graduating class at the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium took place last Friday
and was held in the Event Hall ("Eventhalle") in Schwelm.
At 18.00 clock the first high school graduates arrived.
At the same time we started with the individual or group shots.
At 19.20 clock all guests were officially welcomed by two charming high school graduates.
This was followed by the official speeches of the principal, the mayor and the deputy chairman of the Parents'.
The central event of the evening certainly was the presentation of the certificate of having passed the Abitur
(German university entrance qualification) that startet at 20.00 clock.
The time to eat, which stood by about 21.00 clock was bypassed with the honors of numerous students.
Over the next two hours, the "photo marathon" was continued with individual or group shots.
After the speech of the two form teachers from 23.00 clock the more than 500 guests looked back on events of recent years,
presented in a video prepared by the students.
Shortly before midnight the retrospective of the form speaker and the honors of the teachers followed.
At 0.15 clock, the official part of the evening was over - the party could begin.

The facts
From 17.15 clock until 1.15 clock 804 photographs and 60 video clips were taken.
This corresponds to approximately 18 GB of photo raw data as well as 38 GB of video footage.
After an all day (Saturday) lasting comprehensive "image processing orgy"
which included processing steps such as adjusting the cut, the correction of the brightness curve,
the reduction of noise or red eye removal,
710 photo files remained that were provided for download at 23.12 clock on the same day
in a resolution of 1600 pixels in a 246 MByte zip file in the protected area of this website.
Prom 2015 - 22 * 33 = 710 + 16 pictures
The above mosaic contains 22 * 33 = 726 pictures, i.e. there are 16 duplications that you have certainly discovered immediately.

The video
On Sunday and Monday, the photographs were processed along with the video sequences in a two-hour compilation.
The result was available for all high school graduates in HD quality in a 10 GByte file on Tuesday.
Thereby we had satisfied the wish of the graduating class of a very timely provision of all media in high quality - mission accomplished.
We will gladly provide a 16-minute short version of the video.
