Technological background information - introduction
Do you know what a "Webble" is?
Now, a "Webble" is a component of the "Webble World".
The "Webble World" is the implementation of the Meme Media Architecture, a research project of
Meme Media Laboratory of
Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan.
But what's a "Meme Media" object?
It is an "asset" which allows the online presentation, the distribution and the recombination of memes, that is of "cultural genes",
of "pieces of knowledge".
Basically, it functions as follows:
-
Someone creates and publishes a media object - a document or a tool - by joining various "parts".
-
Other people can access this object and use it.
-
But they can also take it apart into its component parts and reuse some of these pieces in their own published compositions.
-
In this way, the pieces (which carry the "meme" - the "knowledge pieces"), which are useful or popular, appear again and again.
The trick is:
-
The assembling, the splitting and recombining is done entirely visually. No programming is required.
So now you know what a Webble is. But what is a "Cubble"?
Together with other partners, the
incowia GmbH from Ilmenau picked up the idea of Webbles in a research project and derived and implemented
a technology which particularly addresses IT architecture-related and economic aspects which makes the use interesting and exciting even for
economically oriented system providers.
Medial presentation of "Cubbles"
From March 22 to 23, 2016 the "Webble World Summit 2016" took place in Erfurt.
At this conference guests from Japan, Canada and Europe presented numerous innovative ideas and approaches
in the context of the above-outlined technologies, followed by lively discussions of all participants.
For the "Cubbles" implementation forms of representation had to be found beforehand.
Most notable here were the creation of a logo, the design of a poster and of 3 graphics for an overview page on the Internet.
The logo
It takes up the idea of modular, complementary modules ("cubes").
The logo
The poster
In DIN A1 format the poster informs about the essential aspects of "Cubbles".
3 graphics for the overview page on the Internet
The overview page
provides a concise introduction to the subject.
The logo for the conference
"Last but not least" a logo for the event should be found.
Based on the "old computer style" the following label was found:
